Hybrid data collection, with user consent (full collection) and without (light collection) #22551

Summary

Regarding GDPR, at the moment, you can set up your Matomo data collection and reporting in two different ways :

But you can't combine both ; Some platforms are offering this capability under the "Hybrid Mode" label. This would allow to have the best of both methods in a single report ; For example you could allow to have all the visits (consented + not consented) + E-Commerce report (consented users only) You could also have Heatmap reports...

This feature could be articulated with a consent property/dimension associated with all the events/hits.

As many client are interested in E-Commerce reporting AND Exempt mode, I believe this could be great addition to Matomo.
