search broken #65

We have search but I guess it has to be hooked it up to the docs somehow b/c it doesn't work at all image

this is roughly what's supposed to be returned image

follow up from a discussion w/ @QuLogic is that the bug is probably that the homepage is building it's own separate search index rather than using the one from the docs image returns one result because image

so a likely fix would go to https://github.com/matplotlib/mpl-sphinx-theme or upstream to pydata-sphinx-theme and the search template is at https://github.com/matplotlib/mpl-sphinx-theme/blob/main/mpl_sphinx_theme/search.html
