My Matrix messages are not visible for the IRC users of the bridged channel/room. My username (puppet is it?) is not visible in the channel for the IRC users. It applies to any bridged room/channel I'm in. Surprisingly, I am still able to read IRC messages in most of the bridged channels/rooms (but not all channels, there are very few exceptions) in Matrix client.

@appservice:libera.chat in response to !listrooms reports that I'm connected to all bridged rooms.

I did !reconnect, !quit multiple times in attempt to fix the problem, it didn't help.

!nick message to appservice returns the correct actual nick. !nick MyNewNick returns Whois request timed out message.

Today:

• !nick MyNewNick returned Timed out waiting for a response to change nick. message.
• another attempt of !nick MyNewNick returned The nickname MyNewNick is taken on irc.libera.chat. Please pick a different nick. message.
• !nick still returns the original nick, not the NyNewNick.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

After doing the same thing over and over again, i.e. !quit and !reconnect many many times, the issue got fixed. 😵‍💫
