PMs to IRC users don't make it through because the bridge is down. This causes recurring issues when people forget the bridge is down, send me PMs, and don't understand why I can't answer them.

Sorry to be insistent, but this is really annoying. I just got an email from a newcomer of my FOSS project asking me why I didn't reply to the PM they sent me two weeks ago. My project repeatedly wasted days because people forget and newcomers aren't aware of this.

IMHO the better solution here would be to remove the IRC ghost users from the matrix side when the bridge is down.
