#ubuntu-studio-offtopic:matrix.org -> #ubuntustudio-offtopic:libera.chat integration is one-way #1590

Hi there,

I'm having issues with the Matrix <-> IRC bridge. It appears that the integration for IRC<->Matrix isn't working on this particular channel properly. #ubuntu-studio-offtopic:matrix.org is able to post to #ubuntustudio-offopic:libera.chat but not the other way around.

Any help fixing this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

That is not the only IRC channel on libera.chat with that problem. This is also the case of #freeheromesh and #xmonad, apparently. (I do not use Matrix, but this is what I have seen.)

However, the problems are not exactly like that, actually: Users on Matrix can join channels on IRC and the users will be listed on the IRC, but no messages will go through.

Just tried re-integrating the room (it's a plumbed room) and it had no effect. Out of the three rooms I manage, this is the only room that is affected in such a way.

We've been seeing this behavior on #opensuse:libera.chat / #support:opensuse.org (openSUSE's Matrix instance) as well. I also saw it happening on #opensuse-buildservice:libera.chat / #obs:opensuse.org maybe for a couple of days, but now things seem to be normal now.

On the Matrix room, Matrix and Discord users (Discord messages are bridged through Matrix) messages reach the IRC room, but IRC users messages don't reach the Matrix room.
