E-1000 compatibility #101

I just got the E-1000, which seems similar (except for some neat interface improvements and an additional switch) and are made by the same company I believe. Can the firmware be used on both, and can it eventually be adapted?

I have no experience with that model. Just picture-googling though, I can pretty much guarantee that it won't work as is. At least some code should be generic enough to re-use, but it pretty much depends on what microcontroller is used, how much work it would be. This would probably be another 'project', and I probably won't pursue it myself. Feel free to steal/borrow/use any code you want though, if you look into it yourself :)
