Compiling shaders to object files:

• smaller executable (i.e. scalable in the long run)
• no project dependencies (i.e. faster builds)
• object file is smaller than header file (i.e. smaller overall directory)
• requires file IO
• engine inclusion dependent of the directory of the .exe (i.e. application dependent)

Compiling shaders to header files:

• larger executable (i.e. not-scalable in the long run)
• project dependencies (i.e. slower builds)
• header file is larger than object file (i.e. larger overall directory)
• requires no file IO (shaders can be recreated on the fly using the ResourceManager at no cost)
• engine inclusion independent of the directory of the .exe (i.e. application independent)
