Does the removal of the ground plane in the back of the NRFmicro make a difference in range?
Hi @Pastitas,
I should rephrase that because it’s a little misleading. It should make a difference but I have to properly test it to support the statement.
I recently switched from rev.1.0W with wood and steel case to rev.2.0WHS with a fully 3D printed one keeping the same batteries and range/reception vastly improved (no more double key presses, no missing key presses, higher range). Having changed two variables at the same time (case and ground plane) I can’t say which of the two had the biggest impact but, from past experiences, I tend to think that the case is the major actor here.
Feature: Redox rev.2.0WHS
Added new PCB revision supporting Kailh hot-swap sockets and improved range (fixed ground plane to avoid the YJ-14015 antenna area).
