SSHFS has been dropped from homebrew-core since macfuse (formerly osxfuse) has become closed-source.
$ brew install sshfs does not work anymore and homebrew complains about macfuse being closed-source
resorting to the latest osxfuse release, instead of macfuse does not solve the issue
after some various attempts we just resorted to a third party fix, from github user gromgit
it appears to work fine but some daily-use testing may be needed, before taking it as the definitive solution.
NB. Terminal screenshots relative to the issue have been already updated; an editable .svg copy of these pictures has been added to facilitate future corrections, if any.
