Feature Idea: Task time tracking

Summary

Many solutions like click-up offer task-based time tracking. Mattermost board tasks should have time tracking.

How important this is to me and why

Importance: High

Use cases:

1. A task that spans multiple days, i.e a feature that multiple people are working on and will take n number of days, we can't just start and complete and gauge the productivity of our team.

Additional context/similar features

I am working on a service that will take me 10 days to complete. I want to log time (n number of hours) each day and then check accumulated time spent on that task and by my individual developers in the team.

We also just shipped a new Calendar view which can overlay cards with these date ranges.

I just found out about this project, but was a little bit upset that it seems like doesn't have a time tracking feature. I was expecting something like YouTrack has: allow setting Estimate (estimate time to finish a task) and Time Spend. Here is a page from YouTrack about this topic. Plus, allow generating graphs and reports by person/overall to see how much time was spent (within a special date range and maybe compare this to estimate optionally).

P.S. I'm pretty sure that date property is not what we are asking for (at least for me).

Same here, time tracking features like Youtrack are a must have for agile teams.

Super important for this to ever be a viable alternative to Jira/Asana - Dev teams can't function without this.
