Think the build is failing due the apache thrift dependency. Kindly merge the PR https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-plugin-starter-template/pull/66. @hanzei

I'm going close this PR due to the unresolved discussion and the long inactivity.

But I've opened https://github.com/mattermost/mattermost-developer-documentation/issues/475 on the devs docs to keep track of thew wanted docs improvement.
