If you aren’t familiar with Twitter, Wikipedia describes it as:

     Twitter is an online news and social networking      service where users post and interact with mes-      sages, ”tweets”, restricted to 140 characters.

To increase readability, you might consider dropping "Twitter is" from the quotation:

Although not required (as it's the beginning of the quotation), but I still prefer it. "Twitter is" --> [...]
