beyond content of Wikipedia articles? #5

Nice work! Would you be maybe interested to add more features? How about to display more diverse content beyond Wikipedia articles? Possibly add features to see media files from Commons or articles from other Wikimedia projects? I am guessing you are using Wikidata for references?

Thanks for commenting 🙂 I primarily built Wikiscape to refill the gap that the main Wikipedia app left when they removed searching for articles using a map. As you may know, I've reached out to Wikimedia to gauge whether there's interest in supporting Wikiscape by attracting an audience, but there doesn't appear to be for now.

I'm generally keeping an eye on how much interest there is in this project: but based on the number of people who've installed the app from the Google Play Store and how many people have interacted with this GH project, I'd say this app has remained a simple personal, hobby project.

I am guessing you are using Wikidata for references?

I use the Wikimedia's Geosearch API, yeah. It's perfect for the app, and I'm surprised they've basically pulled the client functionality from the Wikipedia Android app 🤷‍♂️
