No indirect route suggested #1

I think this app should suggest an indirect route instead of forcing users to check using /routemap because it will probably be faster to use some other app and it will be very time consuming to look through routemap and check 1 by 1 for each bus stop to see if you can go to your target location. This may make it troublesome for users. image.png

Team's Response

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the User Guide clearly mentions that this feature provides direct route between two places, if any.

 Issue response

Team chose [response.NotInScope]

Reason for disagreement: I disagree that this is not out of scope because the effectiveness of your application is reduced significantly if a user is unable to quickly and effortlessly find their way just because there is no direct route from one bus stop to another. The route function does do its job of telling a user the bus to take if there is a direct route, however, I am not talking specifically about the route function but more of the app's route finding features.

 Issue severity

Team chose [severity.VeryLow] Originally [severity.High]

Reason for disagreement: I believe this is a feature flaw which is "Some functionality missing from a feature delivered in v2.1 in a way that the feature becomes less useful to the intended target user for normal usage" (as defined in the cs2113 website) as it makes the route finding features less useful to users.

According to your UG, "Nav@NUS is a tool tailor made for anyone unfamiliar to NUS campus, students, professors and visitors included. Nav@NUS brings convenience to you and wishes your commute in NUS to be as effortless as possible." I would think that users of the app will definitely have instances when their bus stop does not have a direct route to where they want to go.

So far the only way with your app to know how to go to a bus stop which doesn't have a direct route is to use /routemap to see the bus routes as shown in your UG. However, as stated in your UG, the user has to check all the bus stops the bus goes to which will take a long time and will not be convenient or effortless to use. image.png

Therefore I believe this will affect quite a bit of users who use the app for its route finding features and should be of at least medium severity or higher.
