Sounds like the type of thing that could be variable (preference set by user)..

Neurons fire faster when they're more stimulated (AFAIK) - so I mean neurons firing faster or slower individually rather than as a whole

Still have yet to decide how to do this. One potential method would slow down the whole system considerably.

Alternatively, may be able to send multiple of the same impulse; however, must research more into exact details
