1) are you physically in new Zealand? 2) name an exact show / episode that does not work

TVNZ sucks. Buffers from ahole to breakfast time with new blocking and not enough bandwidth for their new sports streaming. If you're outside NZ tell your VPN. Mine got live channels and sport working again but it's often low res now.
Hi I live in New Zealand NO shows play But if I make a copy of an old saved sdcard I get tvnz+ shows but loose au /bbc/ nhk / etc
I have cancer and have spent 2 days trying to sort the problem I,m tired tonight will see what happens tomorrow K

if you were able to play au/bbc that sounds like your using some sort of VPN / smart dns system. I suspect whatever that is - thats causing your issue and tvnz is detecting it and blocking.
Feel free to provide a full kodi debug log if you want me to investigate further
Hi I have just woken up I had set up 8sd cards and 1 usb key as when I die my wife will not know how to do that all the cards were working until TVNZ+ stopped
so : eg card D will play TVNZ+ but not au bbc (the card I made from an old back I had saved to computer ) : usbkey will play bbc au but not au-mel or NZTV+
so how or were do I get the log ???
will see if I can find it ?
Thanks for reply I live on wast coast north island NZ k

what service are you using to get pass the geo-restrictions? dns4me or something like that? You will need to turn all that off and just use your pure NZ ip address to access TVNZ+
how to get kodi debug log: https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Easy
Hi I 'm using surfshark VPN with out the vpn I can receive TVZN+ but it leaves the card open

well thats your issue then. TVNZ+ is blocking that VPN. I can't stop that. You'll need to talk to surfshark or TVNZ to see if either are willing to fix that
ok I felt that was what was going on that some how they had seen SS vpn
Will talk with SS K

Hi Matt over the last days I went through my collection of SDCARDS with the raspberry op system on them (8) one card connected to au-mel and all so nz-akl this was an older card that I had set up some time last year
NZTV+ on demand plays from that card I had turned off up dates in Kodi I have now clone 2 more cards that all so work from that card / this is not a fix just a work round
Off cause I do not know why this works
When I feel up to it I will create a brand new op system on a sdcard and see what happens K

last night I went to use tv3+ and this was not working I had updates turned off short answer I allowed all updates and then tv3+ worked but tvnz+ was not turned off so one of the updates is the problem
I have cloned the card again and will check that tvnz+ works first then update one item at a time to try and find the one that stops both tvnz+ and tv3+ from working k
correction tvnz+ was now turned OFF when tv3+ was turned ON
Both latest are working fine for everyone.

Hi last night I made a new op sdcard for the raspberry and same old story tvnz+ no go and threenow played au-mel would not hook up to surfshark
The old card I cloned tvnz+ threenow nhk dutch etc all work
will now go to surfshark and see what they say cheers K
Problem found not fixed 16 Aug 2023
1) I have now found what is causing TVNZ+ to fail
2) Out of my raspberry op cards I have 2 that TVNZ+ work on.
3) So I keep making a clone of one of the cards
4) slyguy does not affect TVNZ+
5) To test I turned off updates in Kodi.
6) I started to learn that the problem was when I did allow all updates?
7) To test the out the problem I updated each item one at a time .EG TVNZ+ slyguy etc it was not till I updated you tube that the problem came up and TVNZ+ stopped working Could not find media source Brightcove….
8) Having proved that You tube is the problem I then tried to uninstall You tube this came up that I was not allowed to uninstall you tube as it is used by the following add-on Retrospect (BVN which is Dutch TV on demand)
9) While I have found the problem I think that it is in the what ever you call it that houses the you tube as using up-date with in you tube its self did not affect TVNZ+ it is by using the update menu if that makes sense
10 ) I hope that some one can send this on to the right people to fix that problem…
11) this does not explain when a complete new raspberry sdcard is set up TVNZ+ has the problem with Bright cove >>>

again, there is nothing i can help with here. Using old sd cards and a bunch of random addons is not good testing methodology.
Youtube should not affect TVNZ addon at all. They are complete separate and dont use each other at all.
I wont be replying again until you can provide a debug log on LATEST versions of all my addons showing a specific error. There is too many variables in your setup with your various geo bypassing and random addons and vpns or what not
i suggest you start fresh and install just my addon. then go from there.
HI I think the problem needs to go to Kodi but how ? Matt I read through how to get a log but got lost the cancer does not let me do much
as I said I did a brand new down load of the raspberry op system and only put on your slyguy with TVNZ+ and three now three now worked TVNZ+ came up with Brightcove error
when I feel up to it will do a brand new card and see if I can under stand how to get a log print out
Thanks for your reply K

brightcove error will be them blocking your non NZ ip address due to your smart dns settings probably.
Matt thank you for the message I have tried to learn how to get the log file copy to you have not worked it out so far
This is the 3rd time I have made a new raspberry op sdcard I have so far not found out how to get the log file copied Kodi makes a new log file each time you start it up and there is a log file reader but I can not high light the text to copy
This is all I put on the card. so the new raspberry op vpn nz-akl and vpn au-mel installed slyguy installed TVNZ+ result was that tvnz+ brightcove (so right away it did not work) BUT having read your note went and tried with out the vpn this threw up that kodi inputstream adaptive was needed next widevine CDM This time TVNZ+ worked without the VPN Started VPN and TVNZ+ did not work (so will let surfshark know)
from the log I looked down and found some errors in RED
2023-08-17 13:51:25.416 T:1864
ERROR
Error,general>:DBus error 256 & 527 T:1922 ERROR OpenDemuxStream-error creating demux
Again using another card which TVNZ+ was working on I did a add-on update ALL and it killed TVNZ+ this time I did check sport tvnz one of them played ok
SO your message NZ IP address (I use vpn nz-akl which is New Zealand
will see what surfshark say ????
Its a pity I can not get the log file will keep trying Keith

Matt this came from a friend
Tvnz just added Copyright protection to there online on-demand services too. I know it was advised that it would make certain smart tvnz no longer capable of running their services. Possibly Raspberry Pie has been the same.
I have spent hours trying to get the log from Kodi tried what has been on the web sites will see if kodi forum can help K
