several instances of ST with SE linked to several instances of Stata

Hi,

Thanks so much for this incredibly useful program !

I would have one question/suggestion. One thing that I often do with stata is to open several Stata windows, each with its own do file editor, and I then edit and run different do files on different sessions of Stata at the same time (which may be useful when a program is particularly long to run).

However, with StataEditor, as far as I understood, I can open several instances of Sublime Text, but every time I will try to run a do file from a different Sublime Text windows, they will be run from the same Stata session, which makes it impossible in practice to edit and run several do files at the same time.

Would there be a way around that issue ?

That's actually a bit tricky and would require coding in a different way I think. If I figure out how to do it, I might add such a feature in a future update, but as of now I don't know how it would be done.

• a thumbs up for this feature request. I am working with big data and running code that only uses 10% of the CPU, running multiple instances would be amazing!
