Reconciling "controller" code with Adafruit CircuitPython. #151

Finally figured out what/where the differences between the two implementations are and applied to the controller infrastructure (the Adafruit code was based on bipolar motors).

Notes:

related to #147 (does not implement PWM stepping)
"direction" is completely relative to how the motors are hooked up
needs hardware validation (coming soon)
