Most X applications crash on start-up

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start X server
2. Attempt to run most any X application

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is for application to display and be usable.  Actual output is 
usually that the application almost start and then crashes.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I have version 1.02 on a Motorola xoom running ICS.

Please provide any additional information below.

Modern programs will not work, the program dont have all X server features yet.
Just wait for updates from the author.

When I send the display to the app and return from connect bot, the grey screen 
with the x cursor is gone, all I have is a black screen and no menu button and 
the app is unresponsive like a crash.
If a press home, go back to connect bot, and kill the display, then return to 
the x app, I again see the grey window with the x cursor and the menu button 
works for the app.
I am using a galaxy s2 epic 4g touch with android 4.1.2 (jelly bean I think) 
(phone not rooted)
