Ebooks from AppSnap not installing #96

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install "Books", create the "EBooks" directory in "Media" (I previously
have not had to do this, but upon installing "Books" the directory was not
there)
2. Install "On the Origin of Species" from the Installer
3. Open "Books"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Previously, I have always seen the installed eBook...however, now, I get a
blank list. Checking out the directory via Mobile Finder shows no Ebooks
present. Where did the installed "On the Origin..." go?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

1.3.7 (as featured). I wouldn't think the OS would matter here, as I'm
doing everything native on my iPod Touch

Please provide any additional information below.

The biggest note would be, per the above, this is with a Touch, running
jailbroken 1.1.3 via the Dev Team's official upgrade from a jailbroken
1.1.2 (via TouchFree and Independence).

Thank you!

this is because the EBooks were packaged for the 1.1.2 sdk. One thing you can
do is
create a simbolic link between the /var/root/Media/EBooks directory and your own
/var/mobile/Media/EBooks
or better between the /var/root/Media directory and your own /var/mobile/Media
directory.

To do this you'll probably need to know some command line and you may or may
not have
to create the /var/mobile/Media/EBooks directory depending on whether it exists
or not.
