Consider adding some palette context. The current dropdown of palettes is overwhelming, not very useful. Are they single huge? diverging? qualitative?

I have some ideas, but I think it's more useful to frame the problem than to propose a solution. Would be interested to chat on this if you like.

Obviously this is one of many things that needs to happen and probably goes without saying.
