My initial thought is to choose something with either blue or silver or gold.

I'd like to reserve red and green for coloring rating changes and ranking changes.

I'm committing an attempt at this right now.

The logo and accents are now Steel Blue. Everything else stays the same. Seems to work?

The logo is black again now, but we use steel blue, red, and green throughout the site. I'm closing this issue.
