I think the developer @mattttvaughn has dropped this project all together. If you check his account on github, he has no issues posting updates to other projects, but hasn't touched this one in almost 2 years.
It would be great to see this project updated once again, even if via a forked repository.
So... who wants to take charge on a fork? :P
I would, but I'm not primarily an Android dev, and I have too many projects on my plate to add another right now 😞
@Nixon-Joseph just reviving this discussion - maybe it's worth working on this with your own fork? would really help the community if this could get to the level of prologue
Hey @subash774
Yeah could be fun, I have a full time job plus some contracting on the side, so I don't expect to have a ton of time to do really anything.
Happy to hold the fork and manage the project triage and stuff, and contribute occasionally when I have time.
Worth noting, I did point SmartAudiobookPlayer at this project suggesting it, they said they'd consider implementing, but I doubt it'll go anywhere.
Anywho, if you're interested and motivated, I'm happy to get something moving here.
@Nixon-Joseph ofc, I don't think any expects, nor should expect anything concrete in terms of contribution, we have other commitments. Happy for you to lead the way with the fork or even create something from scratch taking Prologue (that seems to be the iOS gold standard client) as inspiration, I've used prologue and I really like it. I am a backend dev, zero experience with mobile 😅 but more than happy to help with API discovery (can even create our own wrapper around it to extend functionality) and new features we can think of. Shout when/if you need help :)
Haha yeah, obviously zero expectations. I'm full stack with some android experience, but nothing professional for Android native. Once I'm back home I'll make a fork and add you as a contributor. I think it makes sense we always do pr reviews too.
I'm a senior software engineer, and have some experience in native android.
I just found my way to this project after setting up my Plex server. I noticed releases seem pretty infrequent, which I understand as a busy person myself. Was wondering if you think an additional developer might provide some benefit?
