Random pausing during play #32

Open jt196 opened 2 years ago

jt196 commented 2 years ago

Matt, been using the self-compiled app for some months now. This behaviour I've seen in the most recent release as well (0.51.1), every hour or so, playback just seems to pause. I'll have to press play a couple of times on the headphones I'm listening to for it to get back up and running.

Sorry I can't give any more details on this one. I do vaguely remember another user having this issue on the r/chronicleapp group as well, but can't find any posts on a brief search.

This is NOT happening:

Hmm smells a little bit like the app process is getting killed (or potentially running out of memory?)

Esp. if you're on Android 11+, even if the app is killed, the notification won't necessarily be cleared.

What's the make/model of your phone and what version of Android are you running?

jt196 commented 2 years ago

So this is running Android 12 - model Pixel 3 XL. It's running a modded version of Android - CalyxOS. Is this a case of getting the usual background app restrictions turned off?

Have to say, this background stuff is a right pain - have a couple of apps (wallpaper, SyncThing) that just die, no matter what I throw at them. I get the need for this but things just shutting down even when you don't want them to isn't very helpful.

I have updated from the store version 30mins ago to the new version (0.45.1 or 0.51.1, not sure which one to trust*) and this is the first time I have had a random pause event. This has never happened in 0.45.1, I have been using the app daily and never had this issue. Android 10, Huawei Mate 20 Lite. Device was locked playing by bluetooth.

*I have manually updated to the apk file in chronicle/app/release , it says 0.51.1 apk file release but opening the app it shows 0.45.1
