Hi, sorry for testing it so late after asking for the feature (real life stuff...) but I recently had a chance but realized that activating the feature causes Advanced Settings to mute the mic as soon as you leave the Steam dash menu, even when you haven't taken off your headset.

Bug fixed by Valve in the newest Steam VR beta:

The Rift HMD now sends k_EButton_ProximitySensor events when the proximity sensor is triggered.

Tested in Onward, seems to work now as intended :-)
