Installed and opened the executable before opening steamVR (although when starting the exec, steamVR starts automatically), but when I go to steamVR menu, and click on the OpenVR input emulator button, nothing happens. I tried restarting steam and oculus, and then doing it all over again, but no change.

SteamVR got updated to what used to be the SteamVR Beta which caused the Input Emulator to crash.

Steam acknowledges this problem though and has announced that the reason is that they are making a new VR input system that makes it possible for the user to have the feature native to SteamVR to remap VR controls... the feature is not done and included yet though, so for now it really just stops the Input Emulator from working.

But Steam has been nice to make a temporary beta version of SteamVR that is able to support the VR Input Emulator.

I have tried using the beta, the new emulator that steam provided and going with the new version. None of these allow me to see the menu with the open emulator. When I click the button it acts as if it is opening the window but just a transparent window appears with nothing to click. So no drop down menus like it was before. I have been playing the game and it was working perfect with my Oculus prior to this update. So I hope this is fixed soon and can only thank you for working on this out of pure generosity. I truly appreciate all the effort you have put forth to fix what they should have already done. Kudos to you guys. If you can think of anything I can do to temporarily solve my issues I would love the tudoring

SOLVED: The issue(s) I was trying to solve with the Nvidia driver reload was black screen on the Oculus Rift and no 4K resolution on my new TV. Apparently, though, what caused the OVR-IE issue for me was the PC's HDR display setting. Turning it off fixed the issue. .................................................................................................................................................................. Previous comment: I had Input Emulator working great with Steam's recent openvr inputemulator beta. However, I just did an uninstall and clean reinstall of Nvidia drivers to deal with another issue, and now, when I click the Open VR Emulator button in Steam, the options window no longer appears.

I tried rolling back the Nvidia driver to the Jan 8 version, but still no luck.

I have it installed, can run SteamVR and button is available. When clicked brings up the overlay showing it text at top but the rest of the overlay is empty. Have run the desktopmode .bat file, when click input remapping CTD.
