Change to OD_textpoints - Icons don't show until restart Opencpn. #36

Just realized this condition is for the release version. Will check mauro version in the morning.

Mauro I downloaded this https://github.com/mauroc/squiddio_pi/releases/tag/v1.0.10 and found that the icon does go black, just as the other version.

I think we should ask K to change the downloads to your repository when this gets figured out. Thank you Mauro!

no...thank YOU! Most of the stuff comes from your repo ... :-) Still struggling to get circleci/cloudsmith to work. Have you been able to?

I will look into the icons issue.

Wondering about the squiddio icon that goes blank (black) after opening the preferences window several times. ..still learning about how this problem is created and fixed... Just discovered that when I use the bars at the top of the toolbar to hide the menu and then unhide the squiddio icon is showing again. It's a minor bug, perhaps related to the order of rewrite of the icon or something?

@rgleason : unfortunately I am not able to reproduce this issue in either Ubuntu or Mac and I don't have access to a Windows machine right now. Couple of questions: does the issue only apply when you have selected ODraw Textpoints (in the squiddio_pi preferences ) or does it happen with OCPN Waypoints as well? Do you see the same behavior if you hide/show squiddio destinations repeatedly using the right click menu anywhere on the chart?

EDIT - I'll take it back: I have been able to reproduce the problem in Ubuntu so far, but not Mac OSx. Using OCPN v5.0.1. and squiddio v1.0.11

I will exercise the pi later. Jon Gough has also dealt with this effect in OD and fixed it. He may have some ideas too.

Squiddio Toolbar Icon disappears and becomes a black square, when using squiddio_pi v1.0.11

  1. Hit the toolbar icon to open preferences.
  2. Hit the "Cancel" or "Close" button.
  3. Do #1 and #2 again
  4. The toolbar squiddio icon will turn into a black square.
  5. The easiest way to bring the squiddio icon back is to Hit the toolbar = at the top hiding the toolbar icons. Then hit the toolbar = at the top again, to show the icons and the squiddio icon writes properly.
  6. This happens no matter whether OD textpoints or Waypoints is selected.

The icon is now black & white as intended and does not disappear. Thank you Jon and Mauro Tested w/ Windows O v5.0.0 and squiddio_pi v1.0.12 Closing.
