Feature request:

Matrix-community -style user/chatlist (whichever possible) for telegram in ones contact list. Basically same thing that mautrix-facebook implements.

Is it possible to see a screenshot of what exactly mautrix-faceboox does?

olmari commented 4 years ago

@frandavid100 No screenshot now, but it basically adds community (as matrix point of view) and when you click it, it shows you only your telegram contacts and groups, or that is how at least facebook and whatsapp bridges can do.

frandavid100 commented 4 years ago

Oh, then sure, that's exactly what I think mautrix-telegram should do.

Samplasion commented 2 years ago

What's the progress for this? I'm currently manually managing the Telegram space, but it would be nice to have it automatically manage the space. I don't want to put pressure of course, when it's ready, it's ready, but seeing as it's a moderately requested feature, I feel inclined to ask.

wvffle commented 2 years ago

Seems like it's not going to be implemented in near future :/

ShadowJonathan commented 2 years ago

@wvffle what makes you think that?

cc @tulir do you have a plan for approaching this?

feydreva commented 1 year ago

Hello, Anynews on this feature ? it already exist in mautrix whatsapp witht the cammd !wa sync space. it would be very usefull for telegram :) thank you

VPaulV commented 1 year ago

Hi guys, is there any blocker to implement this feature?

minz38 commented 1 year ago

i am also looking forward to see a approach like in matix-discord where direct messages get sorted onto a telegram space and groups appear in another telegram space

HeavyTobi commented 1 month ago

Having this feature would be great! I currently don't find an option to do this automatically
