Yes, to the extent it is needed for CentOS. The question now is: do we care, given it is not a "supported" platform? No one is keeping track of changes/updates to CentOS. Eventually this will be stale (if not already).
FWIW if we aren't going to support this build platform let's either remove the whole doc OR have a caution note up the top making that clear ("not supported by core maintainers") and plan to remove the whole doc in a few releases.
As a community person I tend to think option 2 as a doc maintainer I say option 1.

Leave it for now with the note is fine with me. By the next release this will certainly be stale and we won't know what the proper dependencies will be.
