I've done some work on this plugin in the last week: https://github.com/nixnodes/gnome-shell-extension-rss-feed/releases/tag/v2.0-beta

Since the work requires some testing and validation, the version has been marked as 'beta'.

Provided you're interested in further development, find my changes usefull/sane and wish to collaborate on this project, let me know!
