Enhanced ADF list features #15

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use a great number of ADF files in one folder
2. Access the folder via the DF0, DF1 ... menues
3. Exit the ADF menu
4. Access the folder via the DF0, DF1 ... menues

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect to see a listing of the ADF files right away. Instead I have to
wait 50 secs for it everytime I enter the listing. When I try to move the
listing up and down I can only move 1 file at a time. After 100 files my
finger starts bleeding.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 2 on Nintendo Wii System Menu 4.0

Please provide any additional information below.
I see 2 possible enhancements for the ADF file listing which should be
quite simple to implement compared to USB support (which would be a great
enhancement though).
First it would be very handy if the listing could remember the last
selected index. So if I enter the file listing I go to the disk I want to
open. Then I leave the listing. When I enter the listing again the same
file is selected. This makes sense because often amiga games use more than
one disk. So this way I can open the listing select disk 1 of game xyz.
Open the listing again n select disk 2 right away.
Another useful addition is the possibility to move not just one file up and
down a time but a whole page. On the Wii classic controller the L + R
buttons seem to be the best choice for this. Hitting the L or R button will
then page the ADF list up and down.

Besides that the only feature I am desperatly waiting for is the USB
harddisk support. It will be a great to load my ADF games directly from USB
and might also eradicate the problem with the slow file listings.

Thanks for the great work and all the effort you put in this. I apreciate
it a lot!

Regards

This is the same as issue 14. The page up/page down behavior is already there
(plus/minus). It's all very well documented on the wiibrew wiki page :-)

me
that. Thanks a lot for pointing me to the info and for the fast reply.
