I think WII is not so powerful to support it.
The UAE emulator brings WII almost to the maximum of its power and WHDLoad
would require other resources.

Wii-UAE can handle WHDLoad just fine.
I have been running WB / OS3.9 with a full WHDLoad setup working perfect.
The only issue will be you, will need to use a little frameskip (expected due
to the Wii's CPU / GPU).
Could add some of PSPUAE's speed increases to increase speed ALOT.
I just havent had time to resetup the Wii SDK and continue working on UAEWii.

Hi Fol
Thats's fantastic that whdload is working on the wii! If you could contribute
by increasing the spped then that would be great! (Baboon)

I see there's an option on the emu that says harddisks but when you browse it
doesn't seem to do anything (and can't find my hdf that I've copied over from
winuae)? ..so I can't yet get to the point of trying out whdload? :(

I found there 2 bugs in the current UAE version: one for Hardfile and one for
virtual filesystem (Hard disk emulated through SD WII directories).
They will be fixed in the next release.
In any case you can use Hardfile also in version 6 following these steps.
1) Prepare a hardfile with Winuae (hardfile.hdf) (you can also format it)
2) Copy the hardfile in /uae/harddisks
3) Remove or comment any hardfile configuration in uaerc
4) Start UAE Wii
5) Select Amiga 1200 model
6) insert Workbench 3.1
7) save state to allow UAE starting with Amiga 1200 model
8) Insert "hardfile2=rw,DH1:/uae/harddisks/hardfile.hdf,32,1,2,512,0," in uaerc
9) Start Uae wii
Workbench 3.1 should start and the hard disk should appear
If you try to change model uae gives an error message and exit (this is the
bug).
This instruction should work also with kickrom 2.05/Amiga model 600 which does
not support all kind of Hard disk formattings.
With kickrom 1.3/Amiga model 500 you should copy in /uae/rom the file
FastFileSystem extracted from Worbench 1.3 (It is in the directory L:). You can
search in Internet a guide.

That's brilliant thanks very much. I'll try this out later with those
instructions and report back.

At point 7) you should "save configurations" and not "save state"

finally ... thanks for this great effort ... the possibility of starting the
workbench 3.1 from a HardDisk is missing ... brilliant work ...
You can install version 3.9?

I must admit if WIIUAE could integrate WHDLoad you guys would go down in Amiga
glory (in my opinion!) Actually being able to load a hdf to Amiga Workbench on
the WII and run some pre-installed games - WOW, that would be some achievement!
Keep up the good work!

In version 7 the HDF file support and vitual filesystem are fixed so the
workaround described above is not necessary.
Workbench 3.9 works as well.
Someone should check if WHDLoad works.

This is working great with WHDload! i setup with classicWB-lite, which has
whdload and game directories/launchers pre-configured. works fine on a1200
emulation 2mb chip ram 2mb fast with ECS games. Only problem im having is
navigating the workbench with wiimote it tends to jump and freeze a lot. USB
mouse much better

That's great!
Try to remove the uaerc.saved file.
To reduce mouse jerkiness this configuration should be set:
gfx_fullscreen_amiga=true
The mouse emulation jerkiness was reduced from version 6 but non completely
removed.I tried to completely remove the mouse jerkiness also patching the SDL
library but I did not succeeded.
