Now, plugin supports Youtube, Vimeo and Coub. In release 1.2.0 added Vine.co.

Upd(21.09.2014): In release 1.3.0 added self-hosted videos support, using Video.JS

What more services support should be added?

How about Video.JS for self-hosted video files? http://www.videojs.com/

@naegelin, thanks, interest service! You propose to use it for media files with extensions like mp4, avi, I right understand you?

Yes - Video.JS also supports remote videos like youtube AND VAST formats needed to serve video ads so this would allow for a very nice "native" player to play local .mp4, as well as video services

Why don't you fall back to oembed proxy for the providers that you don't support?

We published http://oembedapi.com endpoint for open-source projects to enable it. Be sure to make the endpoint address configurable though.

Would live ti see this plugin to support bitchute or other relative unknown video hosting services
