Connection failed (is Discord running?) #180

I am trying to connect my application ID to CustomRP but the error message in the title occurs. Discord is running (desktop version) and I have tried to run it as an administrator, allowed the app to communicate through the firewall and restarted my PC, but it will still refuse to connect. Is there a way to fix this?

Do you have BetterDiscord? Did you try to add to antivirus exceptions?

I don't have BetterDiscord, and I don't have any antivirus flags so that's likely not the problem.

Well, something is preventing CRP from connecting to Discord. Usually it's antivirus or firewall, no idea what else could it be if it's neither. Still, even if antivirus didn't go off, it's a good idea to add whole folder to exceptions (%appdata%\CustomRP).

Still isn't working, CRP folder is added to exceptions.

Is Desktop supported or would I need to install the Discord app?

Oh. I thought when you said desktop, you meant the desktop app, are you using browser Discord then?

Yeah, you need a desktop client for it to work.
