With (bluetooth and usb) headsets, it is often the case that these devices
are not always connected. Though they are still set in telephone app
preferences to be used for audio io.

Please check that the device is available, and when not, fall back to an
available audio input/output.

I am not sure how my case is unique, but in the same scenario my Mac just dies. 
Here is exactly what I do:

- pair a BT headset (Nokia BH-905), use it with Telephone
- turn it off
- start Telephone, make a call

I get a popup saying that "BT device is not available...", offering to stop 
using that headset. If I click "Stop...", the same pop-up reappears immediately 
and so on. There is no exit from this loop. If I try to kill the application, 
my Mac becomes unusable - no program would start (not even in terminal), no way 
to reboot properly, UI freezes etc. I have to turn it off.

This does not seem to happen when I use another program that outputs audio via 
BT.

At moment, my bluetooth headphone, Sony DR-BT101 auto switch off audio and mic 
when receive a call.
I must to talk with mac internal mic and audio mac system.
Please solve this! Please permitt bt devices!!

sipgate has this same issue - it hangs, and sometimes hangs the whole machine, 
when a BT headset isn't available.  (I came here in order to decide whether to 
try switching.)
