Please read the FAQ and check existing issues before creating a new issue.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. define logging template as
"C:\cygwin\home\user\logs\&H\&Y&M&D_&T_session.log"
2. open session

What is the expected result? What happens instead?

PutTTYcyg version: 20091228
Cygwin version: CYGWIN_NT-5.1 1.7.1(0.218/5/3) 2009-12-07 11:48
Windows version: windows xp

this is likely to be an issue w/ putty itself. not puttycyg

Right; logging is not specific to PuTTYcyg. Get it fixed upstream, or just
create the directory first. :)
