error partioning - rpi3b+ #541

When I attempt to format my 110GB SSD in USB I get an "error partioning" error.

@clayrichard asked about something similar, but answer to him was: We only support MBR partitioning. Recall that is limited to 2 TB.

Well it is 110GB, much less than 2TB. It has MBR. So why do i get the error?

I've similar ptoblem with USB pendrive (16GB, FAT32): can not install any OS. USB is truncated during formating and ends with error ("partition is not persisted" or something like this). I do not want to use SD card while RPI3 supports USB booting.
