If you do can get to Berryboot, you can use the config editor within Berryboot to edit config.txt
May also want to find out why it does not work once Buster starts and it switches to drm. Perhaps something wrong with your monitors EDID. Do you have a different one to test with?!
I run into that problem to. I was using a 32" AOC monitor and everything works fine but after switching to different OS (can't remember the one I use) I just was getting a black screen and the only way was to switch to another monitor and it works.
I know it sound wear but since I switch to smaller screen (27") no problems with any OS.
Try to boot with ssh first to see what is the issue
I have a Raspberry Pi4 4Gb RAM. After fix berryboot with https://github.com/maxnet/berryboot/issues/595#issuecomment-539705511 fix i install Raspbian Buster, but after launching the OS, nothing is shown on the monitor.
someone suggests this change: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34061#p289973, but I can't do anything without seeing the screen :(
