SimpleDom: Custom elements not removed

The page contains hl-trusted-source custom elements which do two things:

• Append a badge with "Trusted Source" as an alt-text
  • It is appended every time element is mounted, and so by cloning the document with the badge mounted, and the mounting again, the badge's alt-text is now visible twice
  • The badge has an "sro" (screen-reader only presumably) class name - should I preemptively hide all screen-reader only elements?
• Show a pop-up on hover
  • The popup is still displayed on hover in the simple dom, but without styling, it's a bit messed up

This causes even greater issue on this page - https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/warning-from-openai-leaders-helped-trigger-sam-altman-s-ouster The readable page contains only ads, no content. Would removing custom elements work? or just keep the inner-html of custom elements? and should this be done before or after conversion to simplified dom?
