As of recently, Minecraft Forge takes control of GuiIngame and sends out events for other mods to draw HUD elements in a correct context. This isn't the case with tukmc.

Well it sounds like a good idea, though I have no experience with Forge events... mind making a pull request with a snippet or two of how this would be done?

It needs a fair bit of code to mimic what lex did, I may have a go sometime, don't quote me on that though.
