Posts have different number of tags #18

@IsabelleNastasia There is serious overflow with the number of tags, is the tag policy changing for the new site seeing as how it is no longer a tumblr? I remember something about 5 main tags at the retreat.

I can make it look prettier but at some point it is just overwhelming regardless.

I think we should definitely limit the number of tags. The tags for tumblr do not need to be carried over; however, we should come up with a new tagging system. What did you have in mind?

I think we need to determine a vocabulary we want to use and what terminology people feel comfortable with. Maybe start a google doc or something with popular tag ideas and people can respond/add more. I'll bring it up at the meeting tonight.

Tags should be mostly general topics and not specific titles, i.e. Free Cooper Union, unless it is a heavily written about topic on the site, perhaps 4 or more articles.

I definitely agree. I think some basic stuff (economy, prisons, surveillance, queer and/or lgbtq...etc) and then only add specific tags if there is a continuous column.
