Binding for Pioneer AV Receivers #498

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

1. Feature Description
It would be nice to have a binding for the Pioneer AV Receivers that are
equipped with an ethernet interface, similar to the Onkyo receivers.

2. Example Use Case
Control your AV receiver by Openhab rules, e.g. turn on the internet radio when
the living room is entered in the morning.

The Pioneer protocol (at least for the VSX series) is documented here:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/Home%20Custom%20Install
/VSX-1120-K-RS232.PDF

I already started with a binding, based on the onkyo binding (see
https://github.com/Osray/openhab/tree/master/bundles/binding/org.openhab.binding
.pioneeravr)

Currently only sending some commands to my VSX-921 works, the receive direction
needs to be added. I will continue work as i find time.

I created a pull request on github yesterday with a first version for review.
The binding is working fine and stable for me and my use case so far. Could you
please grant me write permissions to the wiki, so i can create a documentation
page so other can try it out? I'll then post a binary version to the group and
see if there are other Pioneer receiver owners willing to give it a try.
