Hi, I had the same problem, see #29, but didn't encounter it recently. One solution is indeed to clear the browser's history (which is a good practice anyway :-)), but I agree that we should not depend on this because for people not knowing how to solve the problem it can be very disturbing being "locked" to a non-existent address.
Btw, which version of the mazi toolkit are you using?
I have since flashed the current (2.5.5) version of MAZI, so I can't be certain which version was running when this issue happened, but I suspect it was the same version.
Thanks! I will be running a big wave of tests when the "stretch" version will be out and pay attention to this issue (at this stage is difficult to engage people in workshops and then letting them wait before buying a raspberry Pi to try it out themselves).
My girlfriend, after connecting to my MAZI zone (through chrome on her windows 10 laptop), finds that every open WiFi network with a splash page (e.g. cafés) now defaults to portal.mazizone.eu (which can't be reached). Visiting http://example.com (in a private browsing tab) brings up the desired splash page for the café WiFi but I imagine this is the sort of quirk you might want to be aware of!
Presumably the short term answer is to clear the cache or something similar. I wonder whether connecting to MAZI again would reinstate the issue though...
