do you mean like 'top' or is there another service monitoring tool? I expect the tests need to be over time as it's only when multiple users connect that issues really a most noticeable. With multiple connections to etherpad this less of a problem than with Wordpress for example.
What I had mind was a simpler "catchy" feature very similar looking to the well-known Speedtest: http://www.speedtest.net/, available also to "users" to see for example "how fast they can upload files" to a local network compared to the Internet. Of course, if this is not the case perhaps we should avoid it :-)
Independently from this, additional monitoring tools would be very useful for the admin panel and perhaps we should also recommend existing apps for monitoring the WiFi channels in an area, etc. I remember you had a cool such app at Sarantaporo that we could include in the "useful apps for MAZI admins" section of the guidelines.
Hmm more like a speed comparison.. but that would require you also had an internet link.
perhaps we could watch the log and build up a 'total data uploaded to this mazi in so much time' list
The wifi tools are easily installed on smart phones - open signal map, wifi analysis and fing.. there are so many..
other tools like text fairy for OCR of photographed texts very cool and we have been including them in the reverso distribution along with interview tool.. (unreliable) and a set of support docs.. oh a pdf handbook of Wordpress pages and posts in Portuguese..!
There is scope to accelerate the use of wordpress in general.. it's a bit chicken and egg.. using an migration and import plug-in (which still has to be installed first) it's possible to offer preloaded wordpress blobs including all the tutorials and guides needed.. with all the extra plug-ins and a fully updated version of wordpress.. ready to import and over write the basic initial set up.
easy

I think it would be very cool if both admins and users could run a simple speedtest of their MAZI Zone, ideally per application.
