Splunk Cloud IDM support - Make jQuery 3.5 compliant #35

Closed tmannel closed 2 years ago

tmannel commented 2 years ago

Hi Matt,

I was informed by Splunk support that this version of the add-on can't be installed on a Splunk Cloud IDM due to a recent compliance requirement that all apps need to be jQuery 3.5 compliant.

They said that app developers of non compliant apps need to get their apps compliant as shown here: https://dev.splunk.com/enterprise/docs/developapps/visualizedata/updatejquery/

Please advise, thanks!

Fortunately I already had this TA installed on our IDM before that became a requirement. I don't understand though why it would prevent the TA from being installed on the IDM when all you're doing is configuring inputs - you're not using any dashboards with jQuery. But Splunk has a lot of really questionable restrictions put on Cloud app management.

Matt,

I totally understand and agree, but this is what I was told by Cloud Ops :(

I am not Matt. I am only a user of the TA, just like you.

My mistake! Thanks.

Came here to post the same issue. Splunk support and PS are saying that their cloud team can't install this, until it meets these odd JQuery requirements.

This is resolved in the 2.25.21 release.

The cloud vetting process is underway.
