vscode loses focus and then no longer allows inserting of citations #3

This is two issues, not sure if related so will list them together (initially):

  1. When triggering the extension the I am able to find the references and then the extension inserts the citation and focus stays with Zotero.

  2. After inserting a number of citations, the citation picker popup allows the citations to be selected, however no citation is inserted into vscode, requiring a restart for vscode and the extension starts working again. This one is hard to replicate but has happened a number of times.

I have the beta version of Zotero installed as per the recommendation by @mblode here.

Same problem here in linux, when i switch files, even that the extension window works, it pastes only a blank line. In atom the same package works.
