Repro steps

Observed:

Occasionally at 4: fails with devicemgr.service.ts:66 Error while connecting: NetworkError: The device has been lost.

Occasionally after 5: fails with

Wrote command "#CEPSR\t00\t74\r\n"
configprotocol.ts:78 Received line @#CMDOK
native.ts:91 ERROR Error: Invalid message @#CMDOK

Expected: correct connection, no errors.
