Testing notes:

Prefer the one-line syntax for scrambler code for brevity ({ type: 4, code: 3 })
Maybe ignore unknown channels instead of erroring out. Different channel layouts make cross-device configuration a bit of a pain (e.g. HX890 / HX890E).
The config gets very long, and most users would likely change waypoints / route / DSC directory much more often than channel config. Maybe add a selection dialog to pick which sections of the YAML to load from the radio, instead of loading everything.

More notes. Current configuration is pretty verbose.

Here's a proposal for shorter format

- channels:
    intership: [ 6, 13, 68, 69, 71, 72, 1078 ]
    names:
        - 9: Foo-CALLING
        - 12: Bar-VTS
        - 1081: Baz-CCG
        - 88: Bat-COMMER
    scrambler:
        - 88: { type: 4, code: 3 }

Key differences

Quotes not required
Configure only channel group 1 if no other groups are provided
Set up the configuration hierarchy as [ intership, names, scrambler ] -> channel rather than channel -> [ intership, names, scrambler ]
