Adding a species to the Taxon Explorer #36

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

When I try to add a new species to a genus in the Taxon Explorer I get an error
message. Also, I can only add new species to the Contents tab, not the Find
tab. Not a show-stopper, but it means I have to Find in Contents before I can
add a new species (because I Find the genus as the first step).

Hi Steve, I've fixed the issue whereby it wouldn't allow you to rename your new
species. I assume that's the error message you were getting. Also I've added
the Add sub menu to the find results, but I think the way the whole unlock
mechanism works needs to be re-thought. I think I will replace all of that with
an apply/cancel bar at the bottom that is visible on all three Taxon panes
(Explorer, find and favorites) - This is how material works, and is more
consistent.

Hi David, The error message was that I needed to add a name and author and
year before I can save a new species. It appeared that the validation code
wasn't seeing the text I had just entered. In any event I'll download the
latest build and have another go.
