Worked once, then stopped working no matter what I do #8

Hi, I know this is not a "support forum" exactly, I just want to share my frustrating experience while trying to force the proper mode on my LG 27GL850 display.

Over DisplayPort, all things are fine. But the thing is I have the only DisplayPort connector used up by my PC (for gaming with the G-Sync support etc.), so that leaves the two HDMIs for other things. I don't need to use the display with my 2020 MacBook Pro 13 that often, but when I do occasionally need to work from home, the low contrast that is produced by this combination of MBP and this panel is driving me crazy. Note that I'm on the latest Catalina patch version.

For once, your tool worked for me! Well, actually it worked twice, but I am not able reproduce it since. No matter what I do – restart my Mac, restart the monitor, remove the patch altogether, reconnect the display however I want. I'm just not able to make it work again. Note that when the override is installed, it correctly says "EDID override" in the Display preferences pane, but the picture still has that low contrast I assume is connected to the TV color modes.

If someone would happen to have a tip or a suggestion what I should try, I'll be really happy for it. Thanks!
